Construction investigation process
From the initial enquiry and agreement on the assignment to inspection, investigation and delivery of the result.
Investigation stages
Initial inquiry
Describe the property, dispute or event and the required outcome. Send documents and photographs relevant to the task.
Preliminary clarification
The sufficiency of materials, specialist knowledge, need for a site visit, access to structures, measurements and tests are assessed.
Agreement on the order
The Invoice-Order defines the property, questions, investigation scope, cost, timeframe, payment and form of the result. The terms are provided before payment.
Preparing the property
The address, time, access, responsible persons and restrictions are agreed. Any opening-up, dismantling or sampling is agreed in advance.
Inspection and documentation
The condition of accessible areas, defects, dimensions and circumstances are documented. Changes to the property after the event and the documents provided are taken into account.
Investigation of materials
Observed signs, documents, applicable requirements and calculations are compared. Additional work, expenses and involvement of specialist service providers are agreed.
Preparing the document
The record, opinion, review or consultation specified in the order is prepared with input data and the limits of the conclusions.
Delivery of the result
The result and service acceptance certificate are delivered on paper and/or electronically, as agreed. Originals and submitted samples are returned under the established procedure.
Contract and court appointment
An information letter and an investigation conducted under a contract do not replace the procedural appointment of an expert examination. An inspection does not automatically cover all concealed structures, the entire building services system or the whole property. The scope and limits of the investigation are determined by the assignment and access.
Discuss an examination
Describe the property and the task. The initial telephone consultation is free for up to 15 minutes.
